Meanwhile, 59% of people in South Kalimantan reported having dental and oral health issues. Just 2.1% of people in the 10–14 age range properly wash their teeth (Basic Health Research, 2020). The behaviour of people still unable to comprehend the significance of maintaining dental and oral health is one of the many factors that contribute the high number of dental and oral disorders. This is demonstrated by the fact that only 8.1% of Indonesians, out of 77.2%, clean their teeth correctly, and that 22.8% of the population does not brush their teeth (Ulfah & Utami, 2020). The focus of this community service project is to help improve the dental and oral health of SDN Antasan Senor Martapura students by using Atraumatic Restorative Treatment (ART) and Fissure Sealant methods as both preventive and curative measures. Cross-sectional analysis and observation are the methods applied. Population represents 65 students classes I through V using total sampling method. After a preliminary assessment of sixty students, it was discovered that fifteen required ART treatment and twenty-three required Fissure Sealant treatment. Optimising dental and oral health using Fissure Sealant methods and ART as preventive and therapeutic treatments for dental and oral health is the suggested solution to this issue. The goal was accomplished since 23 students received Fissure Sealant and 15 students received ART. It is believed that SDN Antasan Senor Martapura is going to experience a decrease in dental caries and a rise in PTI as a result of this community project. Knowledge about health checks, including BSE (Breast Self-Examination), and the implementation of a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy play a major role in maintaining the brain health of pregnant women. This community service aims to optimize the brain health of pregnant women through BSE education and the implementation of a healthy lifestyle with the Interprofessional Collaboration (IPC) approach in the Assisted Village of the Tambarangan Health Center Area, Tapin Regency. The results showed that most pregnant women were aged 25-35 years (60.0%) and had little knowledge about BSE (60.0%). More worryingly, all pregnant women (100%) had never performed BSE. This low level of knowledge not only increases the risk of late detection of breast cancer, but can also trigger stress and anxiety that have a negative impact on the mental and brain health of pregnant women. Through the IPC approach, integrated education from various health professions (doctors, nurses, midwives, nutritionists, and psychologists) is carried out to improve the knowledge of pregnant women about BSE, stress management, and the implementation of a healthy lifestyle. This program helps pregnant women understand the importance of maintaining brain health by paying attention to nutritional intake, physical activity, and routine check-ups. This interprofessional collaboration plays an important role in integrating comprehensive promotive and preventive efforts, so that it can reduce the risk of physical and mental complications in pregnant women. These findings emphasize the importance of ongoing education and a holistic approach to improving the well-being of pregnant women in rural communities.
2024-11-02T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 Jurnal Rakat Sehat : Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakathttps://jrsabdimas-poltekkesbjm.com/index.php/JRS/article/view/71Pelatihan Pengendalian Faktor Risiko Hipertensi Pada Kader Kesehatan Posbindu di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Sungai Ulin Kota Banjarbaru2024-10-21T20:09:58+07:00Ria Roswitaroswitaria@gmail.comRaudatul Jannahraudatul.jannah027@gmail.comAna Ristianaanaristiana.rasyid@gmail.com
The prevalence rate of hypertension in South Kalimantan is at the top in Indonesia at 44.13% (Riskesdas, 2018). Effective DM management relies heavily on patients’ knowledge and skills in managing diet and lifestyle. However, public awareness, especially in rural areas, remains low. This study aims to improve the knowledge and skills of DM patients in Melayu Village, Martapura Timur District, through a nutrition education program and practical application of meal regulation (3J: type, amount, and schedule of meals). The method used includes a two-day education program, counseling, monitoring, and evaluation of blood sugar levels. A total of 40 participants, consisting of 39 women and 1 man, participated in this activity. The training included lectures, discussions, and meal portioning practices. Measurements were taken before and after the training, including pretests, posttests, and blood sugar examinations. Results showed a significant improvement in participants' knowledge, with the average pretest score increasing from 69.2 to 78.1 on the posttest (p<0.05). Additionally, participants’ average blood sugar levels decreased from 219.8 mg% to 189.8 mg% (p<0.05) after the training. In conclusion, a well-designed nutrition education program can enhance DM patients' knowledge and skills in disease management and reduce their blood sugar levels. Ongoing education and monitoring are necessary to support successful DM management in the community.
2024-10-01T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 Jurnal Rakat Sehat : Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat
