High-risk groups for HBV transmission include inmates in correctional facilities, family members or household contacts of infected individuals, residents of orphanages, and those living in boarding-type educational institutions such as Islamic boarding schools (pondok pesantren) and other similar settings. The objective of this community service activity was to increase knowledge, conduct HBV and Anti-HBs screening, and promote clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) among the students (santri) at Pondok Pesantren Raudhatun Nasyi’in, Sungai Besar, Banjarbaru. The results of the screening showed that all 30 students (100%) tested negative for HBsAg, while 1 student (3%) was positive for Anti-HBs and 29 students (97%) were negative. The level of knowledge before the educational intervention was poor in 20%, fair in 33%, and good in 47% of participants. After the educational session, the results improved significantly, with 7% fair and 93% good levels of knowledge. Implementation of clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) indicators showed 95% for personal hygiene, 97% for environmental cleanliness, and 95% for the use of available facilities. In conclusion, no students were found to be infected with Hepatitis B. Based on data from the Cempaka Health Center for January - December 2022, there are 36 tuberculosis sufferers who are still actively seeking treatment. Treatment of pulmonary TB with anti-tuberculosis drugs (OAT) takes several months so it is prone to causing side effects in sufferers. To minimize the side effects of using OAT while increasing the patient's immune system, it is necessary to consume natural ingredients (moringa, meniran and ginger) which have minimal side effects and act as immunomodulators. The aim of the activity is to increase participants' knowledge about tuberculosis and how it is transmitted as well as how to use herbal plants as immunomodulators to minimize side effects due to the use of OAT. The method used in this activity is filling out a questionnaire sheet (pretest) followed by a presentation of the material. Before the posttest was carried out, the participants were given training on how to process herbal drinks from 3 herbal ingredients, namely Moringa leaves, meniran and ginger (Kemeja) which were made in powder form for 2 hours and continued with filling out a questionnaire sheet (posttest). The results of community service can be seen based on the questionnaire sheet which shows an increase in participants' knowledge about pulmonary TB disease by 10% and behavior in preventing pulmonary TB by 10% and participants were able to make immunomodulatory drinks in the form of powder such as Kemeja (moringa, meniran, ginger). Based on the results of evaluation and monitoring, sufferers stated that their appetite increased after drinking SHIRT tea powder. These children are among those with special needs who require specific services, both in education and health. To address this issue, the application of a Braille dental health pocketbook serves as an educational medium and an assistive tool to develop toothbrushing skills among visually impaired children.

Health Transformation In the context of health system transformation, the first pillar often relates to efforts to improve access to and coverage of quality health services. The implementation of the Braille dental health pocketbook as a media-based assistive tool for toothbrushing skills in visually impaired children can help increase public access to health information and services related to oral health issues, supporting the mission of Indonesia Free from Dental Caries by 2030. Through this educational initiative, visually impaired children can more easily and effectively learn how to maintain oral hygiene and practice proper toothbrushing techniques.

The use of the Braille dental health pocketbook as an assistive media tool for developing toothbrushing skills among visually impaired children also encourages active participation in addressing oral health problems. Through interactive approaches or platforms, visually impaired children can engage in monitoring their oral hygiene, sharing experiences, and exchanging knowledge. This helps to increase awareness of the importance of their active role in maintaining oral and dental health.

By utilizing the Braille dental health pocketbook as a media-based assistive tool for toothbrushing skills among visually impaired children, it is possible to optimize resource use within the health system. The use of interactive media and models can enhance the efficiency of oral health awareness. Furthermore, this model can be used to improve the planning and management of oral health programs for children with special needs more effectively.

2026-04-27T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 Jurnal Rakat Sehat : Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakathttps://jrsabdimas-poltekkesbjm.com/index.php/JRS/article/view/138Pendampingan Desa Menuju Kemandirian Air Minum Layak Dan Makanan Sehat2025-12-17T13:44:10+07:00sulaiman hamzanishamzenviro@gmail.comSyarifudin Ashamzenviro@gmail.comNiken Pratiwishamzenviro@gmail.com
Village in Banjar Regency faces serious challenges in providing safe drinking water to residents living along the banks of the Martapura River. Pollution from domestic and agricultural waste, coupled with limited resources, has led to limited access to safe drinking water, which increases public health risks. This community service activity aims to improve access to and quality of safe drinking water and encourage changes in community behavior regarding the provision of healthy food. The implementation method includes mapping community water sources, training in water treatment and healthy food processing, and developing a community-based drinking water supply plan involving village heads and local cadres.
